What Size Rug Do I Need?
When it comes to the bedroom, you will need different-sized rugs for different-sized beds. A king bed will require a 270x180cm area rug. A queen bed works best with a 230x160cm area rug. A double bed will do great with a 220x150cm area rug, and a 160x110cm area rug will fit a twin bed. If you want to try something different, you could place runners on each side of the bed that fits between the wall or nightstand and the end of the bed.
What Material Should I Choose?
Bedrooms are places of peace and comfort, a place to relax at the end of a long day. A bedroom rug should complement that sentiment. When it comes to material, there are several options, and we're sharing the most comfortable ones. Shag rugs are a great option to add delicacy to your feet. How Should I Place The Rug?
If you want the rug centred with your bed, you should allow the outermost legs to sit on 12-24 inches of the rug with equal lengths extending on the sides. If you have the bed set in a corner, you can opt to put the rug on the side of the bed paired with a nightstand or get creative and place it diagonally under the outermost corner of the bed. The best way to ensure your rug will look good in your bedroom is to select a rug that is 18-24 inches wider than your bed.
Considering Colour, Style, and Pattern
If you're looking to add character to your room, consider a bright colour palette. Adding a pop of colour can be a great option if your bedroom decor is neutral unless you enjoy neutral palettes, then select a complementing neutral rug. You can also apply colour theory if there is a specific mood or feeling you want to evoke. Blue helps relax the brain, green promotes feelings of growth, and red communicates passion.
